The photos top and left show the CLC hood and cab design used on a remanufactured process locomotive. Notice the doors are triple wide opening for easier access to the engine compartment. The top of the hood is made in five foot sections that are easily removed in the event that it is necessary to change out any of the major components in the engine compartment. The cab has high visibility with large windows. The rear step platform makes it easy for the operator to stand on the platform or the steps to operate the train in remote control. This was the first process locomotive that we built with AITMC and SDTAB. |

The photos in this section show a reconditioned process locomotive with the original hood and cab design. Although the doors provide access to all of the engine compartment components you can see that it is not as easy to service these items as it is on the triple door design above. The CLC reconditioned design includes a maintenance lid that is mounted in a cut out in the top of the hood. The maintenance lid can be lifted out of the way and then all of the major engine compartment components can be removed from the top. |
